Hello friends and family! I just wanted to send out a quick note to let you all know what's currently happening and to hopefully have your support and presence at some upcoming events.
Tomorrow, Sunday, June 22nd, I will be singing at the It's A Grind coffeehouse located on Jefferson (in the new shopping center with Guitar Center and Babies R Us) from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Please stop by for some coffee and music!
I auditioned for (at the prompting of my manager) and was selected as a semifinalist in the American Heart Walk Idol singing competition. This is a fundraiser Sharp Healthcare puts on every year as a way to raise money for the American Heart Association. There were 19 who tried out, and I am one of 10 semifinalists. They set it up just like American Idol! I had to walk into a closed room with three judges, "Simon, Paula and Randy." Randy is our CEO, Mike Murphy! There were a couple of cameras in the room too. Pretty funny . . .
Anyway, the three semifinalists who raise the most money will be the finalists, then at the event, there will be a popular vote from the audience. It is being held August 18, 2008, at 6 p.m. at the Lyceum Theatre (located in Horton Plaza) in San Diego. All 10 semifinalists will perform and money will be collected at the event and added to whatever total you came in with, plus your online donations.
I hope you can support me with your $$$$$$ (votes) and your presence!!!! Both are necessary to win! And, of course, the money is for a good cause and is a tax deduction.
